Christmas in July 2009

Our Christmas in July was a great
success, with 24 folk coming along to a heart warming camp oven
dinner with most of the trimmings, at the Nunn’s. A huge thankyou
to Ed and Peg for being able to use their home and set up the fires
there, as it was greatly appreciated. We had a visit from Santa
with lots of nice presents for everyone, even if he was a wee bit
worried about the Swine Flu, and had to wear a makeshift mask for
protection!! Thankyou to all who prepared dishes as they were
superb, and also thanks to those who were able to help set up for
the evening, and clean and tidy up afterwards.
A special event was celebrated at
our function that night and everyone enjoyed helping Bill Jessop
with the presentation of his OBE and Diff Destroyer award. I have a
feeling that we were all struggling to find room for his yummy
birthday cake (thanks to Peg’s organisation), but find room we did,
and it was beautiful!!
It was also good to see Daryl up from
Iluka, although we all missed Margie and hope she will be able to
join us in the not too distant future for a get together.
